Trigonox® 289-IN VRN is a special peroxide blend featuring the VR system, suitable for curing unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins with metal accelerators under ambient conditions.
Applications
Trigonox® 289-IN VRN is a convenient initiator suitable for curing unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester, and acrylic thermosetting resins with metal salts under ambient conditions. Trigonox® 289-IN VRN offers the benefits of a standard red peroxide formulation, indicating product flow and proper mixing with the resin. However, the Vanishing Red (VR) series includes a red indicator system that disappears during the curing process. The red color is visible only when needed but is not visible in the final product. Key features include: indicating the presence of initiators, monitoring the mixing step, monitoring curing via color, and indicating uncured areas in the mold; last but not least, it ensures the final product remains colorless after curing.
