Perkadox® BTW-50 is a 50% phthalate-free dibenzoyl peroxide paste used to cure unsaturated polyester resins at ambient and elevated temperatures.
Applications
Perkadox® BTW-50 is a 50% diphenylcarbonyl peroxide (phthalate-free) paste used to cure unsaturated polyester resins at ambient and elevated temperatures. At temperatures up to 80°C, Perkadox® BTW-50 should be used in combination with an aromatic tertiary amine accelerator; above 80°C, no accelerator is required. Perkadox® BTW-50 was developed primarily for the putty market. For unfilled systems, Perkadox® CH 50X or Perkadox® 40E are more suitable in terms of miscibility with unsaturated polyester (UP) resins. Perkadox® BTW-50 exhibits excellent chemical and physical stability, making it highly suitable for pipe filling. The Perkadox® BTW-50/amine accelerator curing system exhibits very rapid curing and is virtually unaffected by humidity and fillers. Relatively good curing is achieved even at low temperatures. Potential drawbacks include yellowing of the molded parts and poor light resistance.
