Perkadox® 24L is a polymerization initiator for the production of vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, (methyl)acrylates, and HMS-PP.
Applications
Perkadox® 24L is used as an initiator for the suspension and bulk polymerization of vinyl chloride in the temperature range of 45°C to 65°C. Perkadox® 24L can be used in combination with other peroxides, such as 1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl 1,1,3,3-neodecanoate (Trigonox 423), isopropylphenyl neodecanoate peroxide (Trigonox 99), or di-lauroyl peroxide (Laurox) to improve reactor efficiency. Perkadox® 24L has low water solubility and low vapor pressure, allowing for rapid and uniform distribution throughout the monomer. These properties are important when producing PVC resins with low fish-eye content and a narrow particle size distribution, while keeping the reactor free of skin formation and scaling.
