Vinyl Ester Flake Composite Ripoxy™FC-83 NS WHITE EX (Intermediate Coat) Ripoxy™FC-83 S GREY EX (Topcoat)

1. Ripoxy Flake Coating: Conventional resin coatings typically refer to fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) coatings formed by adding resin to glass fibers, generally with a thickness of 1–3 mm.However, in this case, we are introducing a flake coating, in which flake glass is added to liquid resin, and the two are mixed to form a slurry (Ripoxy FC). This material can be applied to the substrate using a brush or roller, with a thickness of 400–700 μm.Flake glass is mixed with Ripoxy (vinyl ester resin) to form Ripoxy FC. A catalyst is then added to the Ripoxy FC, which is applied to the substrate using a brush or roller. The coating thickness ranges from 1 mm to 100 layers of flake glass coating.Permeability to chemicals and gases is significantly reduced, and thermal resistance is increased due to curing shrinkage, stress locking, and a reduced linear coefficient of thermal expansion. Work proceeds quickly, and the construction cycle is shortened because the flake coating consists of only three layers of Ripoxy flake composite.

2. Characteristics

  • The thin coating resists intense chemical penetration due to its low permeability to chemicals, gases, and water vapor.
  • Locked-in stresses are reduced due to decreased curing shrinkage. The linear thermal expansion coefficient is low. Adhesion to the substrate, heat resistance, and thermal cycling resistance are enhanced.
  • It resists mechanical damage, such as abrasion and scratches. Even when the coating is subjected to severe impact, only a small portion of the impact point is affected.
  • High electrical insulation resistance.
  • Shorter application time and easy to repair.

3. Properties of the Liquid and Cured Resin
